Celebrating 20 Years of Wallace & Gromit!

It makes me feel a bit old, but yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of Wallace & Gromit – that’s 20 years since “A Grand Day Out” was first screened to the public at a film festival in Bristol.

I’ve watched this animated pair for as long as I can remember, in fact my Dad tells me that we watched “A Grand Day Out” together when it aired for the first time on TV for Christmas 1989 – although being 4 at the time, I can’t really remember a lot about the day. Ever since then I have followed their shows, bought the t-shirts, read the books, and can now proudly say that I work for the company who produced them! So imagine my excitement when I got the opportunity to do an interview with Nick Park:

The idea behind the video was that we wanted to do something for the fans to say thank you for their continued enthusiasm for W&G, Aardman and our website. We asked them to post their questions to Nick Park on the forums and then we would choose the top 20 to ask Nick.

Initially the video was just supposed to be a small-scale website feature, but due to W&G taking over the Google doodle for the day it meant my face was plastered across the hompage of the Wallace & Gromit site, and of course set loose into the YouTube community. You never know the reaction that these kind of things will get, but so far the *majority* of the feedback has been positive, so I’m a happy bunny :) Oh yeah, and the fact that I got this signed piccy (it’s a bit shiny as I daren’t take it out of its protective sleeve!!) ….
