Behind the Scenes of Nokia Gulp

On Tuesday I was invited down to a beach in South Wales to watch Aardman and Nokia attempt to create the worl’d largest stop-motion animation.  Obviously I jumped at the chance!!!

Following the success of Nokia Dot and it’s World Record for being the World’s Smallest animation, Nokia Gulp is now out to take the title for largest animation.  Gulp is a tale of a fisherman  a short film being created using a Nokia N8 phone strapped to a giant crane, plus a whole host of giant sand drawings and seaside objects.

The crew are spending the whole week in Wales and shooting around 75 frames a day and will come out the other side with just 1 minute of animation. Check out this time-lapse video shot on the day I was there!

It’s a labour of love, but judging from the shots I saw it will be well worth it!
