Almost 2 years to the date since my 20 years of Wallace & Gromit interview, I found myself back in the Aardman cinema talking to Nick Park! This time it was to find out more about his latest project, directing a music video for a friend’s band called Native and the Name
The project is a lot different to the claymation we are used to seeing, so I wanted to ask Nick how it came about and how he felt about working in a different medium…
So there you have it! It was great to have the opportunity to do another interview and really interesting to hear about the thinking behind the project. It was clear how much Nick loved the song and was really wants it to do well and raise the profile of the band. I can’t wait to hear more about the feature film idea too!
You can watch the full music video for “Plain Song” by Native and the Name by visiting the band’s website at www.nativeandthename.com
Hi mcquinny
I was wondering if you could help me out, I’m a 3rd year Film student at University College Falmouth in Cornwall and I have been trying to get an interview with Nick Park for a part of my dissertation (I’m looking at the legacy Thunderbirds and how it has influenced contemporary film making). Nick has spoken on the subject in the past, about his childhood love for the shows and how he payed homage to it in Wallace and Gromit, but I was hoping to ask him a few more questions about it.
I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction to somebody who could get in contact with either Nick or one of his assistants to arrange a meeting or something? Because I have tried Aarmans main website contact system, but so far (after a number of weeks) I haven’t heard anything back. Any thoughts of ideas would be greatly welcomed.
Many thanks
Andrew Hyde
p.s Great interview by the way, looking forward to find out more about his future script ideas, I may be a student but im a big kid at heart (thats why my dissertations is on Thunderbirds).
Hey Andrew, thanks for the comment – I checked with the people here at Aards and it sounds like Nick’s PA has replied to you now. Sorry for the delay!
